STUDIO STATEMENT I view my work as a journey within myself. The work touches on all aspects of love, life, and travel that one takes within one's self. This new approach to seeing one's self from within is accomplished with the delicate and sensitive use of earth tones and pastel pallet. Striving to find the ever-shifting balance between color, imagery, and text, I playfully and passionately refer to this technique as "Organized Confusion." The exploration of the psychology of human relationships, life experience, and the effect music has on one's self, plays a significant role in creating my mood and sparks motivation. I present images such as music notes, form, figures, as well as a variety of historical and creative text. These are all influenced by a broad awareness of vast cultures and history. I examined the significance that these images play on everyday life and experience. The richness of touch, sight, and sound associated with other techniques composes here a visual poetry in which this "Organized Confusion" can be anchored. My paintings are highly personal and at the same time universal by touching on all things that directly relate to humanity. I would like everyone to view my work with open eyes, an open mind, and an open heart. I would also like everyone to closely listen to the echoes of one's mind, body, and soul. Please don't just hear what the work is saying, listen. -Milton 510
